This session explores what becomes possible when community voice shapes workforce strategy from the start. Featuring three New Mexico organizations, Change Labs, Saad K’idilye, and Encuentro, it will highlight how they engage staff, community members, and local partners to define priorities and design culturally grounded workforce solutions. Rather than treating input as feedback, these organizations embed it into decision-making, resulting in programming that is more responsive, trusted, and effective. Participants will learn how this approach influences organizational strategy, strengthens staff leadership, and better aligns services with community needs. The session will also examine what it takes to fund this work, including how these organizations navigate public and private funding, and what systems and philanthropy can do to better support community-driven approaches.
