Alex Hertzer is Executive Director of Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition (MVMC), an industry-led partnership of manufacturers, educators, workforce organizations, and community partners working together to strengthen the manufacturing workforce across Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Alex brings a unique perspective to workforce and economic development, having started his manufacturing career as a roll-form operator at ClarkDietrich—home to the largest light-gauge roll-forming facility in the United States—and advancing through leadership roles to become Plant Superintendent. In addition to workforce pipeline development, Alex has led initiatives focused on apprenticeship expansion, incumbent worker training, frontline leadership development, and employer best practices in recruitment, retention, and workplace culture. His work is driven by a passion for strengthening communities, supporting manufacturers, and creating inclusive pathways that help individuals and businesses thrive.
