About Shift Work Forward

Why it matters

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur. Facilisis mattis odio egestas eu penatibus amet sollicitudin.

Everyone deserves a fair shot at building a successful career, but a significant number of workers — especially people of color and those with lower incomes — face structural inequities that make it difficult to access the right information, training, and support.

They also lack the social capital that is often necessary to tap into career pathways. Institutions responsible for providing career services and training often lack the resources and coordination needed to guide people toward good jobs and keep up with rapidly evolving industry demands.

As a result, many workers struggle to find clear pathways to economic mobility.

About Shift Work Forward

What We’re Doing

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur. Facilisis mattis odio egestas eu penatibus amet sollicitudin.

Shift Work Forward is working with our Network Partners to change that.

By centering workers’ needs and bringing together key players across workforce development organizations, community colleges, industry partnerships, and education and training providers to drive coordinated policy and practice changes, we’re transforming career navigation and training systems.

We’re striving to ensure everyone has the ability to choose their career path and their success isn’t determined by race or background.

Current Initiatives

Support community colleges and industry leaders to adopt practices within educational and training systems that ensure all students have access to the right information, supports, training, and connections that result in good jobs.
Create pathways for more people to enter energy and infrastructure careers by providing greater opportunities and support to underrepresented workers in apprenticeship and training programs, ultimately aiming to enhance their participation and success in these fields.
