Dr. Christopher Laney is the Vice President of Public Sector Impact and a Labor Economist at Lightcast where he helps states, nonprofits, foundations, and workforce organizations use labor market data to strengthen education, workforce development, and economic mobility outcomes. He leads initiatives focused on workforce transformation, future of work strategies, credentials of value, emerging industries, and economic impact analysis. Laney has partnered with state leaders across the country, including Indiana, Michigan, Florida, Maryland, and Mississippi, to support policy development and workforce innovation. Prior to Lightcast, he served in workforce development leadership roles in Florida and led statewide initiatives focused on education and career pathways.
