Dr. Clinton Boyd, Jr. is a nationally recognized leader, researcher, and practitioner whose work advances the well-being of fathers, families, and communities through research, policy, systems change, and community-driven practice. Since 2021, he has served as Executive Director of Fathers, Families, & Healthy Communities, a Chicago-based organization helping fathers thrive as caregivers, providers, and community leaders. He is also a former Researcher at Chapin Hall.

Under Dr. Boyd’s leadership, FFHC has expanded its work to address the broader conditions shaping fathers’ ability to strengthen their families. He leads community-centered initiatives integrating fatherhood support, economic mobility, health and wellness, family resilience, and leadership development. His scholarship similarly centers the strengths, experiences, and aspirations of Black fathers and families.

Dr. Boyd earned degrees from Concordia University Chicago, DePaul University, and Georgia State University and completed postdoctoral training at Duke University. He serves on the National Board of Prevent Child Abuse America, is a ZERO TO THREE Academy Fellow, and a board member of the Noah’s Arc Foundation, founded by former NBA star Joakim Noah to advance youth development, arts, and community wellness. His leadership has been recognized through the Aspen Institute Ascend Fellowship and DePaul University’s Chicago Changemaker of the Year Award.
