Jessica Jones is the Director of Communications at Shift Work Forward, where she leads the organization’s strategic communications, brand positioning, and narrative development to advance a more equitable workforce. She brings more than 20 years of experience spanning philanthropy, higher education, and nonprofit advocacy, with a deep commitment to mission-driven storytelling and the power of communications to drive social change.
At Shift Work Forward, Jessica oversees all external communications, including message development, digital strategy, media relations, and narrative change efforts that elevate the organization’s vision for an equitable workforce. She positions executive leaders and staff as trusted field experts, drives cohesive storytelling across platforms, and ensures communications strategies strengthen national conversations on job quality and worker well‑being. Her team has expanded the organization’s reach and thought leadership across the field by growing the Shift Work Forward content ecosystem — including the launch of two new podcasts — and boosting event marketing efforts that led to increased attendance at the SHIFT Conference and virtual events.
Before joining Shift Work Forward in 2022, Jessica spent eight years as a communications officer at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, where she led strategic communications for the Civil Society program. Her work supported initiatives to strengthen civic space, expand access to justice, and grow community philanthropy globally. Earlier in her career, she held communications and public relations roles at organizations including the Skillman Foundation, Los Angeles Southwest College, and Kroenke Sports Enterprises.
