Matthew Bruce is the founding executive director of the Chicagoland Workforce Funder Alliance (CWFA). CWFA is the Chicago region’s workforce development funder collaborative, it invests in an equitable and prosperous region built by employer, worker and community collaborations. Started in 2012 at the Trust, CWFA has pooled over $20 million from over 50 foundations and invested in employer-led workforce solutions, the region’s workforce development system and strategies to build worker power. Prior to joining the Trust, Matt was Manager of Regional Sector Initiatives for the Boston Office of Jobs and Community Services, where he started sector workforce initiatives such as Green Jobs Boston and the Skilled Careers In Life Sciences initiative. Matt has a master’s in public policy from the University of Chicago
