Dr. Raphael W. Bostic served as the 15th president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta from 2017 until his retirement in February 2026. An economist and public policy leader, his career has spanned government, academia, and the Federal Reserve System. Before joining the Atlanta Fed, Bostic was a professor and public policy scholar at the University of Southern California. He previously served as assistant secretary for policy development and research at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board. His research has focused on housing, economic opportunity, and the role of institutions in shaping effective public policy.
