Wanzi is the Associate Director for Research and Policy at the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment (CSCCE) at UC Berkeley. She leads workforce studies and evaluations of early care and education (ECE) compensation initiatives, gathering data on workforce demographics, wages and benefits, working conditions, and policy impacts. Wanzi also contributes to CSCCE’s ECHOES project, which connects ECE today with its history and activism. Her work advances workforce-centered ECE policies and investments that recognize and value the women whose essential labor sustains high-quality ECE services. Wanzi holds a master’s degree in planning from the University of Guelph, Canada.
