When the Birmingham Tech Council launched, it was supported by grant funding and co-led by two backbone organizations. Within a few years, the grant period ended and one of those organizations closed. Rather than dissolving, the council evolved into a community-led partnership that continues to strengthen Central Alabama’s tech ecosystem. Through an inside look at the Tech Council, participants will explore how employers, training providers, and emerging tech talent work together to identify workforce needs, shape talent strategies, and sustain collaboration through change. The session will highlight lessons on shared ownership, governance, balancing employer and worker perspectives, and designing workforce partnerships that can adapt to funding shifts, leadership transitions, and changing community needs.
