On Site at Southwest Glass & Glazing: Practices That Support Workers’ Return to Work

Join us at Southwest Glass & Glazing to explore how employers and community partners are creating pathways to employment for people facing significant barriers to work, including individuals returning from incarceration and those experiencing housing instability. Grounded in research from the Albuquerque Workforce Leadership Academy, this experience highlights how employers, workforce organizations, and nonprofits are working together to expand opportunity and support long-term success. Participants will tour Southwest Glass & Glazing’s facility, where they will see apprenticeship training, skill development, and advancement pathways in action. You’ll also hear from community partners about the broader ecosystem of supports that help workers prepare for, enter, and remain in quality jobs. Through insights from employers, partners, and workers, explore how intentional hiring, supportive practices, and strong community partnerships create the conditions for lasting workforce success.

Important: Attendance is limited to 30 participants. Advance registration opens in early September and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation will be provided to and from the on-site visit.  For this Sojourn, the tour requires eye protection (which will be provided) and close-toed shoes. The presentation and conversation portion of this Sojourn will occur outside under a tent.
