Asking workers for input is essential, but too often it stops at surveys or feedback that never reaches decision-makers, limiting its ability to improve job quality. For employers, the real question is whether what you learn actually shapes decisions and choices. Drawing on Connecticut’s Centering Workers in Job Design initiative in healthcare, you’ll hear directly from employers who used structured storytelling to elevate frontline worker voice. Frontline workers shared experiences that didn’t just inspire empathy. They directly influenced executives to rethink roles, redesign career pathways, and confront inequities embedded in job design. Participants will learn a practical approach to capturing frontline insight in ways that drive action–and walk away with tools to strengthen retention and design roles that support advancement.
