Aligning state priorities with local realities is difficult and essential to making workforce systems work. WorkOhio is a statewide workforce initiative led by the Lt. Governor’s Office, the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, designed to streamline access to quality jobs through a coordinated, statewide entry point. This session examines how three competitively selected regional hubs—Southwest Ohio, Lake to River, and Central Ohio—translate that shared state framework into locally tailored solutions. Participants will explore how different backbone organizations reduce duplication, improve coordination, and respond to community needs while advancing equitable access to quality jobs. The session offers practical lessons on designing state-led systems that remain flexible, responsive, and grounded in the regional context.
